Hello I am Louie woodhouse and this is my blog in which i discuss the IP of the words, Voodoo and Plague. I will be discussing how the words have been linked to past media, leading into modern day and then leading into how the IP will affect the future.
I chose voodoo because voodoo has links in media to zombies which has played on the horror of people as the idea of the animated dead rise up to consume people which has been used in many comics like walking dead, many many films like "day of the dead" (released 1985 and remake 2008"), "dawn of the dead" (released 2004) and "white zombie." (Released 1932) it has also been played in many games like the resident evil series.

I chose Plague because in media illness has commonly used plots like the book "I am legend" (Richard Matheson 1954). In films there are films like "The last man on earth" (released 8 March 1964) and the recent film "Daybreakers" (8 January 2010). Through plague there is also medicine which is a main theme of a lot of popular TV programs like house M.D and grey’s anatomy.

You need to look at your choices as 'topics' rather than 'words.'
ReplyDeleteAim to source examples of how 'Voodoo' and 'Plague' have repeatedly appeared in various forms of media over time, which would justify your choice as having cultural popularity.
Start with the present and then look back at the past before exploring the horizon.
Explain how you are going to do this in your blog.
You're aiming to explore a diverse range of media that will cultivate innovation.
You need to show, films, books , magazines, theatrical performance, music etc. that have used these sort of themes.
Also create links to images on your blog with each example linking to the original source.
For your research you need to explore a diverse variety of ways that your chosen themes have been represented in the media, starting in the present and then over time.
Also look at Google scholar and in educational and academic journals and papers to read and quote any academic research on these themes.
You would benefit from creating some good diverse mind maps with a variety of pathways to direct your research.
It may also be worth doing mood boards to gather images around these mind map topics.
I like your topics...and these are good images, although you must reference them with the author and date. You must also reference your examples and make sure that the titles actually stand out. e.g. "I am Legend" (Matheson, 1954)
ReplyDeleteIt is also worth noting that "Omega Man" is the first film version of "I am Legend".
You should be further on with your research by now given the short time frame for this project. I see no evidence of your present day research pages here - if you have it in document form please upload it to your blog as soon as possible.
Please also spell and grammar check your work. (lowercase i's are annoying)
